"My Thoughts On This Great Woman of God..."
We were so blessed to have her wonderful presence with us for sixty-four years and one week. Her prayer life and ministry were unmatched, and so was her dedication to the saints at Jubilee and abroad. The Memphis and Shelby County School Systems will always know her as the "Diligent and Dedicated Teacher."
Those who were fortunate to know and embrace her wealth of love, affection, and care will continue to mourn but then cherish the precious memories they made with Lady Sandra Askew. She was more than just a "First Lady"; she embodied what charm and grace would look like if it were a person.
Lady Askew and I had something unique and special for more than forty-four years, from day 1 (August 15, 1980) until the moment she was suddenly summoned home to be with the Lord (December 1, 2024). We loved each other dearly.
She personified the title of wife, mother, and grandmother of which she perfected in her service toward family.
We will miss her (as we already feel the deep void left by her passing) but will embrace her presence once more in His presence.
I dare not say "good-bye" but rather "Shalom my love", I will see you in the morning.
With Loving Thoughts and Everlasting Memories,
Bishop Designate Gregory Askew
